Fuel Mileage Considerations 1996

Fuel mileage offers the toughest of trade - offs', and the toughest to give good advice. The very aerodynamic trucks are simply not as popular at resale value time ...causing a valuation difference that can exceed $30,000 between models. Meanwhile the more aerodynamic trucks can get a mile or greater fuel mileage advantage, often cost a little less and in general require a smaller cash flow.
Run your own numbers. There are other tricks of the trade to increase fuel mileage. I suggest you learn them, particularly if you stick with the classic styling. You may not get what the extremely aerodynamic truck will, but you will get close if you hone and practice the fuel mileage nuances. Also, be aware that in general the classically styled truck is easier to maintain from the mechanics perspective so it is possible to get a slight cost per mile advantage on that front.
