The truckWeb is evolving into a growing cast of characters, each  developing their own  identity.  Their mission is to advance truckWeb to the point where it begins to fill the promise of the name.

Some of the cast may be a little secretive about exactly what they do.  After all, they want to offer tips and ideas, not give away their livelihood.   Most will ultimately share a  fundamental, an insight, maybe an awful decision they made or a great one.  Some characters don't know what they do or who they are because they have not been defined yet ...one day they will breathe:)

One or more may have an experience to share to fit your need?  We hope so.   All cast members hope to help you be as successful as you want to be.   Clete

Cleteclete_sm.jpg (5045 bytes)

Clete knows trucks are essential to all Americans.  He believes that the age of communication is an opportunity for the little guy to become consistantly more efficient than the big fleets.

He has witnessed Americas conventional transportation epochs of river, canal, rail, horse and truck and the cycles within.   Clete  sees many truck businessmen make the same type of mistakes today that were common and avoidable 50, even 100 years ago ...and, and miss the same type of opportunity.  He hopes the cast of truckweb will put light on some of the common mistakes so the truckweb readers have a better chance of success.

Clete dosen't care where you buy a truck or what you do with it, he just wants you to be smart about it, or at least smarter than the average fleet.

Clete thinks one day truck transportation will simply be, communication, man and machine.

Clete is very old.  Before he leaves this world he would like to leave his mark by passing on good truck transportation ideas to you.

Bob

Bob runs a business that uses trucks. He leased trucks for a while, then discovered if he bought the right truck; everything fell into place and costs ran below budget.

Bob found that drivers were easier to hire and they stuck around.  His small fleet of trucks have grown into  a  solid business asset and profit center.

Amazingly enough, the older trucks are nearly as reliable as the new ones.

Now, Bobs people tells him they need to add a truck, but the competitive pressures are particularly intense in this part of his industries cycle.   He company has been buying the same brand of trucks for 12 years now.  It is working well, but the other brand is 10% less!  Times are tight ...what to do?
