Ask your agent about "gap insurance".  Typical insurance policies cover the average retail value of a given truck year, make and model and not necessarily the value you insure the truck for.(it is most often wasteful to insure for more than this retail average as they won't pay)  Retail truck values are driven by market forces and often, insurance policies have  little regard for  what you actually owe on the truck.  If you owe more than your truck will retail for, you could have trouble.  Gap insurance covers the difference.  Don't assume, ask your agent!
